Tammy Rectenwald, a multiple sclerosis patient lived at Meadowbrook Acres owned by Nursing Care Management of America Inc. from March 23, 1999, until Oct. 9, 2003. During her stay she suffered from numerous infections, malnutrition and dehydration resulting in chest congestion and other symptoms of pneumonia. After transferring to the hospital she was diagnosed with irreversible brain damage and died two weeks later.
